Why I Am Running
I believe that every student should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential. I am certain the only way this can happen is if we foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the district. Madeira has great kids, strong parent support, and our school is consistently ranked as one of the best in the entire state. That said, the world is changing quickly, and to make sure our kids are prepared to succeed in their next phase of life, we cannot be satisfied with simply maintaining the status quo.
As a Board member, what does this mean?
-
Encouraging new perspectives by asking tough questions
-
Engaging in open and difficult conversations to drive the best solutions for our kids
-
Driving a culture of accountability to ensure we meet our district’s goals
-
Ensuring we have the best teachers, extracurricular program leaders, coaches and administrators
-
Building relationships with the city, business community and neighboring districts to better leverage potential resources for our kids
I want to help fulfill our district’s vision and ensure that Madeira continues to be a place where students grow, achieve, and thrive. I encourage you to read below to learn more about me, and if you have similar beliefs, I ask for your support on November 4th.
My Journey

About Pete
I am a Cincinnati native who was raised in Kenwood and graduated from Indian Hill High School in 1985. I attended Denison University and graduated in 1989 with a double major in Economics and History. During my time at Denison, I played on the football and baseball teams for four years and was an active member of the Denison Community Student Association (DCSA), which provided volunteer support to address the needs of the greater Granville and Newark communities. After college I moved to Chicago, where I spent the next 27 years professionally, as well as starting and raising my family in the Wrigleyville area, until making the decision to move back to Cincinnati in 2016.
Family
My wife, Janine, and I have been married since 2006, and we have three beautiful, smart, and energetic kids. Our decision to move to Madeira from Chicago was based on giving our kids an education and community environment where we felt they could thrive.
Our daughter Hannah rides horses, played softball, graduated from Madeira in 2023, and is an Animal Science major at Murray State University. Our twin boys, Greg and Andrew, played on two Final Four soccer teams, graduated from Madeira last spring, and started at Marquette and Miami universities this past August, where they are majoring in Business. Their move has left our home very quiet.
Professional Experience
After college, I moved to Chicago and began a management consulting career helping clients develop solutions to meet their business objectives. Specifically, my work focused on leading teams in designing more efficient service organizations by aligning business processes with technological and sourcing solutions. I also led teams in developing human capital strategies, building talent models, and conducting change management activities.
My consulting engagements spanned the globe and exposed me to many different cultures and ways of working, resulting in a broad range of experiences that influenced me both professionally and personally. While I was fortunate to see many great cultural spots around the world, my travels also exposed me to areas of deep poverty where many people struggled to give their families a better life. I also had many foreign colleagues who did not live in a place that gave them the freedoms we enjoy on a daily basis. These experiences shaped me into someone who does not accept “no” as an answer and who believes there is always a way to make things better.
Community Leadership
Since my college days as a member of the Denison Community Student Association, I have always felt it is important to give back to the community you live in. In Chicago, I volunteered at the local Boys Club. Upon moving to Madeira, I continued to coach my kids’ teams and became an active member of the Madeira Athletic Boosters. In April 2021, I became President of the organization.
During my time as Booster President, I have been guided by the belief that all our goals and actions need to focus on what is best for our kids. Under that mantra, I have had the privilege of leading a great team of parent volunteers who have increased our annual revenue from approximately $90,000 to $176,000. In this past year, this commitment has allowed us to buy equipment and uniforms, remodel the training room, and help push through facility improvements. In addition, this fall we will be making a $57,000 investment in the Fitness Center to replace worn and broken equipment and increase capability to accommodate more athletes simultaneously.
How You Can Help
Running a successful campaign takes the support of family, friends, and community members. You can help by spreading the word about my candidacy, talking with neighbors and friends, and sharing why this election matters for our schools. Your encouragement—whether through volunteering, displaying a yard sign, attending events, or simply having conversations—makes a real difference. Most importantly, I ask for your vote on November 4th.
